Is Marijuana Legal in Texas?

No it is not. A few states have legalized marijuana in small amounts. Texas is not one of those States. If you are stopped in Dallas or the surrounding areas, any amount of marijuana you have will get you arrested. The amount of marijuana that you are in possession of will determine what level of offense you are charged with.

Less than 2 ounces of marijuana is a Class B misdemeanor. 2 ounces to less than 4 ounces is a Class A misdemeanor and more than 4 ounces to less than 5 pounds is a felony is a state jail felony.

Anything above 5 pounds is also a felony but the degree of the felony will depend on the amount of marijuana you are arrested for.
